Winter Warmer Hot Chocolate

Healthy and decadent!

If you are looking for the perfect treat to have on a cold winters day then look no further!

Sitting under a blanket, reading a book with a cup of this hot chocolate has to be the best way to end a long day...

This hot chocolate is gluten, sugar and dairy free and is so delicious that it almost tastes too good to be healthy.

It’s also made with a few simple ingredients that are readily available so there’s no excuse not to give this a bash.

WINTER WARMER HOT CHOCOLATE

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
1 to 2 TBS date syrup
1 TBS cocoa powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
A pinch of ginger, cloves and cardamom
1 tsp coconut oil (optional) 

METHOD: 

  1. Add milk to a pot and bring to the boil. Alternatively, add milk to a microwave friendly jug and microwave for 90 seconds.
  2. Lower to a simmer and add the cocoa powder and stir.
  3. Add in the spices and continue to stir.
  4. Stir in the date syrup, followed by the optional coconut oil (stirring until the coconut oil has melted)
  5. Serve immediately.
  6. Enjoy
